Background
A small food brand's customers live on LINE, but product information sat on a website and ordering meant a separate form. Every product shipped also needs a legally required nutrition label, which used to be calculated and laid out by hand. This project automates both the storefront and the fulfilment side.
Storefront: LINE Mini App
- Products, brand story and ingredient content moved from the website into a LINE Mini App, so customers never leave LINE
- Product cards share to chats as Flex Messages in one tap, turning word of mouth into new customers
- Links straight to the order form, and the app can be added to the home screen
- Deep links such as
/productsand/product/{slug}let campaigns land on a specific product - Asset migration is scripted, and the palette comes from the brand's own site for a consistent look
Back office: Nutrition Label Automation
- Enter a recipe's ingredients and weights; nutrients are calculated from the Taiwan FDA food nutrient database
- Output follows Taiwan's packaged-food nutrition labelling rules (version effective 2024-07-01), with eight nutrients per serving and per 100 g
- A product label is generated alongside: name, net weight, ingredients by descending weight, allergens, storage and shelf life
- Prints directly to a NIIMBOT B1 Pro over Web Bluetooth — no drivers or apps
- Custom nutrient values for ingredients missing from the database; inputs are validated with zod to prevent miscalculation
Technical Highlights
- No build step: a purely static frontend the brand can maintain later
- LINE platform integration: LIFF sharing, add-to-home-screen and deep links, plus the real-world constraint that MINI App channels must bind LIFF in the Console
- Regulatory accuracy: calculations follow the current labelling format, removing manual arithmetic errors
Good Fit For
- Brands whose customers are on LINE and want to sell right there
- Food businesses with changing product lines that must carry nutrition labels
- Small e-commerce teams automating repetitive ordering, shipping and labelling work
